Valentines and Bubbles (2/2-2/16)
We've had a fun couple of weeks! Here's a look at what we've been doing.
Valentines Day Activities
- The kids decorated foam hearts.
- They decorated posterboard hearts with tissue paper squares.
- They made their own craft inventions with Valentines odds and ends.
- The kids decorated sugar cookies, decorated boxes to hold valentines, and exchanged valentines.
Bubbles Activities
- The kids played with bubbles and all kinds of bubble makers outside.
Literacy Activities
- We read Snowmen at Christmas, Love Monster, and Fly Guy Meets Fly Girl.
- We've been working on sight words again. We've introduced some new words and are reviewing them every day and playing a game with them next week.
- They played with alphabet robots.
- We watched Letter Factory while they ate their snack.
Math Activities
- We talked about patterns and odds and evens with our calendar. Also they love to take turns counting with the calendar.
- We played a jeopardy style game called Are You Ready For Kindergarten? that reviews math and literacy concepts.
Fine Motor Skills Activities
- The kids played with playdoh. We also made our own super soft playdoh where they got to choose the food coloring and glitter.
- They worked in their tracing workbooks.
- The kids painted with dot paint markers.
Outside And Misc Fun
- The kids built with big cardboard blocks, a dinosaur toy that uses a play drill and screwdriver, and with legos.
