Fall/Thanksgiving (11/12-11/19)

 Here is a look at our last three days of preschool :) Fall/Thanksgiving activities * We did a bat art project.  I know- this is more of a Halloween theme!  But I've had it ready for a while and we kept running out of time to do it, so we finally got around to it.  Only the glue was still wet, so it will come home next week. Literacy * We built letters out of plastic, magnetic letter pieces (Lakeshore Learning kit). * We reviewed sight words and played a sight word game called Bang! * We read I'd Really Like to Eat a Child and Can You Make a Scary Face? Math * We talked about subtraction with a book called 10 Fat Turkeys. * We added pictures of the kids to the month of their birthday on our bulletin board.  Holidays and birthdays really help the kids start to understand how long a year is. Halloween/Fall cont. (10/27-11/4)

 Holidays is such a fun time to have preschool!  Here's a look at our last two weeks 😀 Halloween/Fall activities At their request, we had some fun with baking soda, vinegar, and plastic spiders. For a special treat before our Halloween party, we watched Room on the Broom and ate our snacks in front of the tv.  We had our party!  Thank you for coming! I wish I'd gotten a picture of them all in their costumes!  I can't believe I forgot to pose them for one! We tried coloring leaves made of special paper. I've done this in past years and they've turned out really vibrant and beautiful. I think we used too much water and too big of droppers this year, so the colors were very muted.  But they still enjoyed it. We made "ooblek" and painted pumpkins with it.
