Halloween theme (10/13-10/15)
This was a fun week as we started incorporating some Halloween activities into our learning.
Halloween Activities
* The kids made paper strip pumpkins. This was good practice for their scissor skills.
*We started learning/reviewing some Halloween songs.
*The kids colored, wrote, decorated with stickers, and drew in blank Halloween books. (Tess thought it was funny to make that face 😏
Literacy
* We read some Halloween books and some other fun books. Don't Push the Button is one of their favorites from last year, and they've been requesting it for days. We also read Peppa's Windy Fall Day.
* I started introducing sight words. I'll send out a video about this soon. Our sight word for this week was "I." We will add on next week.
* They practiced making CVC words again.
Math
* Along with our usual calendar work, we are helping the kids who can't yet to count to 20.
Fine Motor Skills
* The kids played with very sticky slime.
* Halloween sensory bins (dried rice, beans, and macaroni with Halloween toys, scoops, tweezers, etc)
Misc
* The kids played outside a bit. It was still a little hot, but they had fun running around.
We will continue with our Halloween theme and some fun new activities next week :)
